The Amazing Race: 2

An Amazing Amazing Race, or Fall of an Empire!

OMG. I’m still in bed because I can’t move. Two days later. Nick’s Amazing Race was truly amazing. He pulled it off way better than I thought the little nugget could and I’m so proud of him. Secretly I think he only wanted to do it so that Gary Jr. and I would be forced to exercise. I’m also proud of my teammate, Alfie, for putting up with my slow-out-of-shape ass!

We talked hella shit going into the race and, well, karma bit Team So Hairy It’s Scary in the ass. No, actually, karma ate out our entire ass. We made all the wrong moves, but were so sure of ourselves the entire time! HA! As evidence, please enjoy a compilation of our best worst decisions along the race. And sorry in advance to all the people we hated on along the race.

Every Amazing Race needs the d-bag team of two young guys, right? Glad we could be ‘em.

Amazing Race: The Aftermath

Well, well, well.

Last Saturday was the Amazing Race that Nick (and Jay) put together. It was so much fun and was exhausting. On Sunday, everyone’s Facebook status included a comment either about sunburns, muscle fatigue, exhaustion or blisters or a combination of them. So you know it was good times.

I personally enjoyed the baby food challenge where we had to taste mixed up dyed baby food to guess what two types of food it was. There was a 7 story staircase challenge that almost cost Misha his life. I also liked the 47 bus driver who lost her shit when she found out we were on a race for prizes and glory. As we ran off, she leaned out of the bus and yelled, “I’m rooting for you!” Aww. Surely, there were other highlights that others can include in the comments section.

My personal favorite was the decision by someone (dirty Nick) to invite German triathletes to the fun family and friends event. Well, that certainly upped the anty, didn’t it? These chiseled specimens of humanity were hella fit. They literally ran from spot to spot instead of taking buses because the buses took too long! Haha. What chance did anyone have in challenging them? In all, it was like a 25 mile circuit that they RAN. They killed it. It was kinda amazing but I’ll never admit it.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a tasty BBQ that included Benutty family frolics, which of course are the most fun. And everyone recalled stories about what happened to them along the race. At the end of the day, Nick and Jay pulled it off.

The Amazing Race!

You’ve got one week left to register for the Amazing Race on July 17th…

If you are wondering why I need registration by June 1st, it is basically because I have a shit load of stuff to plan and buy, and I need to know how many people I am buying for and what not…..

So far I have 6 teams signed up, and two others that I expect to get soon.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me at either nick@deadat2am.com or sf.amazing.race@gmail.com

Also.. I have dropped the idea of “team names” so don’t worry about that.

and if you would like to help me in some way the day of the race, please let me know as well…. I already have 2 people helping me and I could use another 2.
