You see, I was recently unemployed by my shitty employer. So I had a lot of free time on my hands. So I took up some temp jobs (which wore me the fuck out because I was not used to a real 8 hour work shift after my last shitty job). I took up a diet (which has resulted in about 25 pounds of lost fat and more on the way). I’ve been traveling with the UN’s Farming Fund. We’ve been seeding farms in Botswana and Belize and Bolivia. We’ve only made it up to the B countries. Next month, Colombia. (I’ll be bringing a camera for that trip). I’ve been listening to way too much NPR and especially the Diane Rehm Show. I love Diane! I’ve been watching the HBO miniseries about John Adams starring Paul Gia-whatever-the-hell. Love it! Only up to episode 4 and loving it. That’s going to be a new post no doubt.

And I’ve been reading a lot of books lately. So I think I might follow in Benutty’s steps and offer up some book reviews…well, not so much a review as a book statement. Oh and Benutty I’ve left your Percy Jackson books in my trunk to give you and I keep forgeting. I finished the series and loved it. SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE HIDEOUS MOVIE.

Books that I want to talk about:

  • The Percy Jackson Series (obviously in conjunction with Benutty, since we wanted to read them together as part of our super secret sorry Nick can’t read book club)
  • 52 Loaves
  • Little Bee (about to finish)
  • The $64 Tomato (about to start)
