Well, it’s only bullshit when you want to try to make a lower calorie cake. Low calorie cakes are disgusting in case any of the three readers of this blog wanted to know. I have never made such a cake before and I figured oh why not! I bought granulated Splenda to replace the sugar. Replaced the oil for applesauce. And only used the egg whites. The whole recipe is tres simple:

  • 1/2 cup of splenda sugar blend
  • 3/4 cup of unsweetened apple sauce
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup of blueberries

Mix wet then add dry. Add blueberries at end and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.

The result 8 pieces of cake each at only 98 calories a slice. Cake consistency? No, more like sodabread. Flavor? None…bread with splenda, essentially. Here is my final product:

But don’t get me wrong. I’ve eaten a slice every morning since the day I baked it. What! Haha. And I’ve lost 8 pounds. Suck on that! Oh and here’s the picture of the “same” cake from the recipe page on the internet. I’m calling bullshit on this one:

I read this article this morning on Yahoo claiming that American Idol voters are all 11 year old girls who only vote for white male contestants.  This editorial was obviously written by a black man who was pissed off that Michael Lynche (the only African American contestant left on Idol this year) got voted off last night (even though the judges saved him).

This pissed me off because I don’t think this has anything to do with race (how else would Lil Rounds make it so far last year…. hello!)   In my personal opinion the reason Big Mike was voted out last night was because he is awful.  He is not original at all… there are hundreds of artists who sound just like him already… Plus he is so incredibly cheesy it makes it want to vomit all over myself.   Finally… he is ugly.  I’m sorry but it doesn’t matter if you are white, black, brown or red… if you are an ugly mother fucker you are not going to win American Idol.  Fact!  So don’t go calling out the race card on this bullshit.
