Game of Thrones

The Game of Thrones is a new television series on HBO based on author George R. R. Martin’s best selling A Song of Ice and Fire series of seven planned fantasy novels. Set in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime, the show follows the struggle among the kingdom’s seven noble families for control of the Iron Throne in Kings Landing.

This show is basically a mixture of your classic medieval story with elements of the Lord of the Rings thrown in. We are currently 6 episodes in and it is already one of my favorite shows on television right now. The cast is fantastic…. especially the child actors. Because I don’t want to give anything away about what is going on, all I will say is that this show is amazing and keeps getting better with every new episode. If you are not hooked by the 4th episode then maybe there is something wrong with you. No really… go get checked out.

(What I will say though is the actor who plays the midget is simply amazing, and there is a hot gay guy who mami wants!)

This Place About To Blow

Ke$ha – Blow (Video)

This place is bout to blow alright cause Ke$ha is killing it!  I just watched Ke$ha’s new video for Blow and it is AH-mazing!  It has everything you could have ever wanted in a video… unicorns, rainbows, Ke$ha not looking homeless, fighting, champes, and of course a sexy looking James Van Der Beek.  The dialogue between Ke$ha and James had me weak… The whole video is just so over the top ridiculous.  It is what I imagine Benutty’s dreams to be like because that fool has some far out dreams.

Jennifer Lopez – On The Floor (Feat. Pitbull)

J-Lo has returned to making simple dance songs and I love it.  I was a big J-Lo fan back in the day but then she decided to get really ghetto, and I am sorry… it just did not work for me.  This song does have some rap in it, but it doesn’t ruin the song like the way the rap at the beginning of Umbrella by Rihanna ruined that song.  I know a lot of the songs on her new album were produced by Red One so it sounds like it is going to be a good album.  Looking forward to it.  Let’s just hope her video is good.

Born This Way

So it has been a week now since Born This Way by Lady Gaga came out, and I thought now would be the appropriate time to review it.  You know I needed to let it simmer a bit before I really knew what I thought about it.

Well… The play count says it all.  I have only listened to Born This Way 15 times since it came out.  For a comparison… after 7 days of listening to Bad Romance I had listened to it well over 50 times (if not more).  I’m not sure what the problem is with Born This Way… It’s catchy, the message is good… but it’s still kind of dull.  Don’t get me wrong though.. it is far better than Hold It Against Me.. poor Britney.

Born This Way:

HATE IT

Speaking of Britney, I just saw her video for Hold It Against Me.  Bitch is broke!  She can’t dance anymore, and what is with paint spraying from her finger tips?  What the hell does this video have to do with the song?  I honestly just don’t get it… I mean how hard is it to make a music video?!  Oh and it doesn’t help that in the video it shows her old videos where she can actually dance, and what is up with her beating herself up… well I guess I’d beat myself up to if I made this video. If you want to brave it…  click here.  One last question… Can someone please refer Britney to a hair stylist?

What do you think?

This Is American Idol

Time to review the new American Idol:

Lets think back to September 22nd 2010 when it was announced that Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and Jennifer Lopez were the new American Idol judges. I was horrified!

I had thought to myself that Steven Tyler had seen too much in his life to ever take American Idol seriously, and that Jennifer Lopez seemed like the type of person who would only ever have anything nice to say and end up being totally boring. Who was going to tell it like it is as Simon Cowell had done for years? Who was going to be so drugged up they never made sense like Paula? Who was going to wear Kara’s ugly wardrobe and god awful necklaces? And why is the “dog” still there?

Well fuck what I thought because they all totally surprised me. Both of them are taking each audition seriously, and seem to be really enjoying themselves. As a matter of fact the only person on the panel who openly laughs at bad contestants is Randy Jackson. Steven Tyler especially is way more awesome than I had ever thought he would be. He has these weird sayings he throws out, he cusses a lot, hits on young girls, but he is also really kind to people and gives them pretty good advice. Oh and I also loved how Danny Gokey was on last night, and that happened to be the day that Steven Tyler showed us all how you really hit that note in Dream On. Thank you!

Now as far as J-Lo goes… the bitch has pumped out some bad albums lately but damn she is so pretty! I mean… I’m gay, but holy shit she looks good. Why did people ever think she was a bitch… to me she seems so genuine and nice. In last nights episode I also liked how she was really concerned about that one 15 year old girl because she knew she wouldn’t be able to handle American Idol at her age. Yea no joke! There is no way that girl is making it to the top 12.

Anyways, seeing the new judges really opened my eyes to how checked out Simon Cowell was the last couple years. They have an enthusiasm we have not seen in a long time. American Idol is not dead after all, and I think this is going to be a really good season. Oh and Aerosmith and J-Lo better perform during the finale!

Waiting for tonight! Oh oh! When you would be here in my arms!

LOVE IT!

We Dance To The Beat

Let’s review some new music:

–Britney Spears: Hold It Against Me

I’d like to start by saying there is nothing special about this song.  Secondly I would like to remind people of another song that came out in 2009… it was Madonna’s Celebration which was completely panned by all for being too basic with a dated club sound.  Now fast forward to 2011 and Britney has released a song that is in my opinion also too basic with a dated club sound.  Apparently Madonna is still ahead of music trends… who knew?   I would also like to point out how this songs pattern is much like Rihanna’s Only Girl (In The World).  Listen to the two and tell me there isn’t a similarity.

In the end this song is lacking greatly in epic-ness! Comparing this song to the likes of Oops… I Did It Again, Gimme More, and Womanizer (other lead singles) this one just has no unique qualities to it.  I’ve listened to it 5 times now, and I am already bored.

HATE IT!

–Avril Lavigne: What The Hell

Over the years I have grown to like Avril Lavigne’s music, but don’t get me wrong I still hate Sk8r Boi… possibly one of the worst songs ever made.  But with songs like Don’t Tell Me, Keep Holding On and I’m With You (one of my personal favorite songs ever) she has certainly grown.  This does not mean that I am not always worried about something new… her recent song for the Alice in Wonderland movie sucked, but this new song I actually like a lot.  It is ridiculously poppy and upbeat, and hello it’s message is about saying fuck it lets just have fun.

Although this song is not original in any way (much like Britney’s new song) it is actually fun to listen to which can’t be said for Britney’s new tune.  This song will inspire me at work tomorrow to say… fuck it lets have fun instead! I’m sure my boss will appreciate it.  :)

LOVE IT!

What do you all think of these new songs?  Agree with me? Disagree with me?

Love It / Hate It

Today I will be reviewing Pretzel M&M’s.

This candy is dead to me! Not because they are too tasty (they are), but because somehow my body is allergic to them. On two separate occasions I have munched on them, and both times my left eye has puffed up and gotten swollen. I looked like that guy from Goonies. What the hell is in them?

The package says “may contain peanuts”, but I am not allergic to peanuts. I am not allergic to regular M&M’s, or Peanut M&M’s, or any other variety of M&M’s, so it must be the pretzel right? No, because I am not allergic to pretzels either. So the question is… what sick chemical is in these M&M’s that my body does not like? Let’s review the ingredients shall we…

Ingredients: milk chocolate (sugar, chocolate, skim milk, cocoa butter, lactose, milkfat, soy lecithin, salt, artificial flavours), pretzel [enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), salt, food starch-modified, vegetable oil (soybean oil, canola oil and/or corn oil), malt, leavening (yeast, sodium bicarbonate, ammonium bicarbonate)], sugar, less than 2% – cornstarch, corn syrup, dextrin, coloring (includes blue 1 lake, red 40 lake, yellow 6, red 40, yellow 5, blue 1, yellow 6 lake, yellow 5 lake, blue 2 lake, blue 2), gum acacia.

Hmm… well if I had to guess I would say it is either Riboflavin or Gum Acacia… but who knows.

Are Pretzel M&M’s tasty? Yes. Are they lower in calories than other M&M’s? Yes. Will I be eating them again? No.

Hey Mars Company… how about making shit the old fashion way? You know… with real ingredients.
