Good Movies and Bad Movies

BAD MOVIES
Now, to start off with a caveat, I am no major movie buff and have no credentials to critic anybody but… What fucking moron Hollywood dickhead decided it was a good idea to take two washed up Hollywood actors who have only made bad spy movies for the last decade and put them in a spy movie together. In the past decade this is what we have gotten:
a) Comic Book Movies ( i.e. X-men, X-men two, X-men three, The Hulk, Iron Man, Iron Man two, Batman Begins)
b) Sequels and Prequels (i.e. X-men, X-men two, X-men three, The Hulk, Iron Man, Iron Man two, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Star Trek, Toy story 3, Shrek 4)
Now though, we’ve hit a new low… combining old bad plots to make new movies!
I mean… isn’t Knight and Day really just going to be a combination of Charlies Angles meets Mission Impossible? This movie WILL suck!
GOOD MOVIES
On a brighter note, Nick recently introduced me to an amazing movie: Hedwig and the Angry Inch!!! This movie was awesome. It was funny, unique, original, and … A MUSICAL! I love it.

As of today I have lost 30 pounds! Say what!?!? It’s kind of sad that I am happy about it, and sickened by it at the same time. 30 pounds is a lot… I was a god damn heifer. Never again!

Benutty’s Book Review: The Woman Warrior

I was first introduced to this book in my sophomore year of high school and, although hating it at the time, have found myself to have had a favorable idea of it throughout my more literarily mature adult life. I’ve only recently returned to it as part of my office’s book club and am pleased to realize that the romanticization of it in my head wasn’t without merit. I like it as much as I had convinced myself I had!
Kingston diverges interestingly from the typical Asian-American literary style by using what her mother calls “talk-story,” to speak to ideas of womanhood rather than focusing on the now cliche frustration of fitting into America as an immigrant, as seen in any one of Amy Tan’s boring novels. Talking story creates a hybrid fact/fiction story for Kingston that all at once includes the story of Fa Mu Lan, her mother’s own life, and lessons enveloped in Chinese tradition but stamped with American ideals. Although at times sleepy and seemingly endless, The Woman Warrior is a gem for its use of metaphor, fierceness, and simple tale-telling.
Recommended to anyone with a taste of cultural lit and/or feminism.

- Perez tweeting Miley’s crotch shot
- Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff live-tweeting from a state execution
You probably already know about Perez and his stupid drama but check out these tweets by the Utah AG:
“A solemn day. Barring a stay by Sup Ct, & with my my final nod, Utah will use most extreme power & execute a killer. Mourn his victims. Justice”

You Know What I Hate?

1) I hate people who fart on the bus. Like really?!?!?! You can’t hold that shit until you get to your stop? I know it is you old Asian man looking guilty. I don’t know you have been eating but good lord….. how does something so awful come out of you.
2) I hate Meg Whitman. Obviously I hate her because she is a filthy republican, but it is beyond that. It is the way she speaks… she sounds like all the douche bag executives at any place I have ever worked… all positive and smiley, but behind it all you know they are planning to make your life hell. That’s right! Oh and how can you call yourself a fiscal conservative??? You just spent 71 million dollars of your own money on a primary!!! That doesn’t sound like someone who knows how to use her money wisely.
3) I hate Perez Hilton. Talk about total douche bag! I hear he is in trouble recently because he posted a picture of Miley Cyrus’ pink taco on twitter, and home girl is only 17 years old. Child pornography is illegal my dear. Now he is freaking out trying to prove that the picture he posted showed her wearing underwear… well if that’s true, then why did you delete that post on twitter? why don’t you repost it on your website? why don’t you jump off a bridge? I’m so sick of his ugly fucking face, and I am so sick of him thinking he is more important than he actually is. I hope you go to prison for child pornography… that would be amazeballs! (That’s right… I said it)
